EPISODE ELEVEN: MY LIFE IN COMPARTMENTS
Sylvia has, by her own admission, received countless convictions as a result of campaigning for a peaceful world. In this episode we discover how her family has been effected by the choices she has made.
A fascinating look into the lives and views of these peace activist grannys, who have spent over 25 years now campaining for something they obviously continue to believe very strongly about. Whether you agree or not with what they do, I cann’t help but admire their perseverance. Very interesting documentary.
It was interesting to hear how Sylvia compartmentalises her active campaiging role and family life, using this as a ‘coping’ method, and very nice to see how her husband may have found it difficult, but still accepted it. I can’t believe that her daughter’s teacher would have been so crass as to make that announcement in class! It must have been a difficult thing for her to come to terms with, being so young.
We can always look back at things we’ve done in life and feel guilty, but we have to do what feels right at any point in time, and hope that those arouind us understand.
