Disarming Grandmothers was a very organic project… It started with a camera and a newspaper article and ended 6 years later with 31 mini documentaries and the creation of this blog. After spending just a few moments in Helen and Sylvia’s lives, I knew I wanted to make a documentary about them. Here were two grandmothers who in-between taking the dog for a walk and going to Quaker meetings, were campaigning for peace by laying down in front of nuclear truck convoys, boarding US Military planes, oh and I almost forgot… being tried for terrorism.
